Each semester IHTTI school of hotel management students are given the opportunity to meet with industry leaders from around the world at the SEG International Recruitment Forum (IRF). Undergraduate

 

Swiss Certificate and Swiss Diploma (Year 1 and 2)

Years 1 and 2 of the IHTTI hotel management school programme include all operational subjects including Food and Beverage, Front Office and Housekeeping.

 

Swiss Higher Diploma, British and Swiss BA (Hons) Degrees (Year 3)

Year 3 of the IHTTI hotel management school programme seeks to equip students with the skills that will enable them to gain fast-track entry into management careers in the Hospitality Industry.

The first 2 years at IHTTI hotel management school are each divided into two parts. Each year consists of a 5 month academic term and a 4 to 6 month paid internship in the hospitality industry in Switzerland or abroad.

 

In addition to the Swiss Degree, the BA (Hons) Degree in Hospitality and Design Management is awarded in collaboration with IHTTI’s academic partner, the University of Derby (UoD), UK.

After successful completion of the Swiss Diploma in International Hotel Operations Management, students can progress to the 3rd year during which they will obtain a Swiss Higher Diploma, a Swiss Degree and a British BA (Hons) Degree.

  

Year 3 of the IHTTI programme is divided into 2 academic terms and a 6 week dissertation period. The dissertation provides the student with the opportunity to work independently on a project of their choice. The completion of the dissertation enables the student to receive an Honours Degree. For the dissertation, the student can choose between distance or on campus learning. In both cases, strong support and supervision from the hotel management school will be provided. After successful completion of the BA (Hons) Degree, students can progress to the MA in Hospitality Management at the SEG University Center in Leysin.

Minimum Entry Requirements Undergraduate Program

  • Min. age: 17 years*
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. IHTTI may also recognise equivalent work experience
  • English: TOEFL 500+, IELTS 5.0 or Oxford Online Test 50+ points*
  • For students with a lower level of English, we recommend the SEG English Foundation program.                               
*Please note that students must be 18 years of age to commence the full-time industry internship. Those students who have not attained this age will be required to complete the second academic term at IHTTI hotel management school before commencing their first internship placement.

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

 

PGD in Hospitality & Design Management

   

IHTTI’s Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality & Design Management has been designed to provide students with a broad understanding of the international hospitality and related industries. The programme has a dual perspective. On one hand it focuses on the daily operations within a hotel’s departments, on the other hand on the decision making processes that lead to effective departmental and hotel management. The programme provides a foundation that allows the student to work effectively within the Hospitality industry and helps to build a career up to executive management level.

The course of the hotel management school is particularly useful for those who have already obtained a university level qualification within another discipline and intend to become senior managers within international hotels, chains and resorts. It is equally relevant for those who have significant industry experience and need an internationally recognised qualification to advance to the next level in their career.

 

Minimum Entry Requirements - PGD

  • Minimum age: 21 years
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline OR at least 3 years work experience in a supervisory position in any industry.
  • English: TOEFL 500+, IELTS 5.0 or Oxford Online Placement Test 50+ points
